Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) is a new program launched in June 2019 aimed at empowering small communities, especially those living in rural areas. Employers will have the opportunity to post job opportunities in the participating parties. Skilled foreigners who live and seek employment in Canada will be able to apply for these positions and if you are successful, this community can recommend you to the government for permanent residence.

Due to low birth rates and early retirement, Canada is urgently looking for skilled people. Although large numbers of skilled immigrants are moving to the Great White North, about 70 percent of immigrants live in urban provinces such as Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia, which makes a huge difference to rural societies.

Most immigrants forget to keep in mind that if opportunities in urban areas may seem more lucrative, then they also spend significantly more on living. Second, given the undisputed preference for urban centers by not only skilled foreigners but also young local professionals, there is significantly more competition for opportunities.

Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is designed to bring skilled worker in smaller areas.

Ontario is attracting 1,000 people whose express entries score is 429. The five-year Federal Immigration Pilot is designed to help the elderly population and small communities with a shortage of labor, who are struggling to attract and retain new immigrants. It is a community-run program aimed at promoting the benefits of immigration.

To join the pilot, communities must:

Your population is 50,000 or less and the census is located at least 75 km from the center of the metropolitan area, or

According to the Canada Remoteness Index, you have a population of up to 200,000 and are considered remote from other major cities.

Steps for permanent residence

  1. Candidates must check that they meet both the federal government's eligibility requirements and community-related requirements (see below).
  2. Find a qualified employer with an employer in one of the partner parties (listed below).
  3. Candidates with job offers can apply to the community for a recommendation.
  4. Candidates with community recommendation can apply for permanent residence.

Candidates who are interested in applying must ensure that they meet the federal requirements for the program as well as the set requirements of each community. This includes an offer of a qualified employer from one of the participating parties.

Which parties are participating?

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot was announced as Canada's immigration initiative to address the labor market needs of small communities.

As Canada's population ages and birth rates decline, there is a significant reduction in the available workforce in Canada's rural workforce. The rural and northern immigration pilot will help attract those who need these communities for economic development. The New Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot is a five-year initiative aimed at testing community-based approaches to addressing the labor market needs of small communities. In addition, for those struggling with other immigration routes, such as express entry, Canadian is a potential alternative to the Canadian immigration option.
